Prayers for our Country

As a family, we haven't done our best to instill our children to pray for our country. However, we're trying to change that - and the 4th of July is a wonderful place to start. And why not start with the Patron Saints?

The Blessed Virgin Mary - typically as Our Lady of Guadalupe - is the official patron saint of the Americas. However others, like Blessed Kateri Tekawitha (shown here), are perfect for this as well. I've also seen St. Rose of Lima listed as a patron of the Americas and she is also perfect.

So take some time and develop a devotion to these Saints (especially Mary!) and ask for prayers for our country. We certainly could use a little divine help!

God bless,
Jay
