Please Pray for Tom Sciolino
Below is an email my wife received yesterday about a friend of ours. Please join us in offering up prayers for God's healing and mercy for Tom. We are especially seeking the intercession of Pope John Paul II the Great!
Hey Krista,Tom called me on Monday am and said he was at work and didn’t know how to do his job. He had lost his memory-we talked for quite a while and he didn’t seem to get how serious it was. He said he was going to try one thing to jog his work memory and he would call me back. When he hung up I called back the site he was visiting and they said he left so I knew he was driving. I called 911 to tell them he wouldn’t know how to drive. Within 15 min he had crashed his car having a seizure. He was mercy flighted from Buffalo to Rochester after they decided he was too serious for their ED-When he arrived he was unresponsive and intubated. What we have learned since then?
He has a spot on his brain in the left temporal region-2 neurologists don’t agree with what it is…one said it is a tumor and another said it’s too early to tell and thinks it could be several other possibilities. Right now, they are waiting 2 weeks to repeat the MRI and see if it grows. The neurologist told me it is NOT a good place to have a tumor and that tumors in that region are normally malignant. It sits right between his memory and his behavior regions.
His shoulder is a complete mess-he had a complete replacement yesterday (the ortho dr told me it was the 2nd worst injury he has ever seen in a shoulder from any cause and they think it was the combination of seizing and driving—he had almost no upper arm left, the shoulder broke posteriorally and the ball at the top of the humerus was shattered into pieces. He told Tom there is a good chance he can’t lift that arm above his waist. After surgery he had 105 temp, increased sugar and high blood pressure. They gave him Ancef before surgery and it infiltrated and now he has a pretty bad case of cellulitis in his good arm. He also developed a blood clot in his good arm
Last night he developed complete numbness on the left side of his head (where the spot is on the MRI) and today he has a severe headache, feels pressure and dizziness.
We'll keep you posted on Tom's situation.
In Christ,
Joe

I graduated with Tom from high school I was just in Rome visiting the Vatican and Pope John Paul's tomb. I received something from a nun over there that I am sending Tom. I prayed for all my friends with cancer over there. I am dedicating a rosary each week to his healing. thank you for posting this.
