Catholic Carnival XXXI: Belated, But Worth It
I apologize profusely for the delay. I was out of town on a business trip and my hotel’s internet access went down. In a world dependent on being always connected, the Catholic Carnival’s delay wasn’t the only problem I faced! Thank you for your patience – I believe the posts below make the delay bearable. Thank you for your understanding.
Without any further adieu, the Catholic Carnival:
+ Mary: Sign of the Covenant at Catholic in Exile starts us off strong with an intimate reflection on Mary as we end May, the month traditionally associated with her.
+ The meaning and value of liberalism at la nouvelle théologie begins a dialogue about liberalism through several links that further examine the various parts of liberalism.
+ Saying Goodbye to St. Michael’s at Crusader of Justice says goodbye to the parish that’s been his home for the past 18 months. He also requests your prayers.
+ The Consequences of Darwinism at Veritas examines the social implications of Darwinism as a worldview.
+ The Picture and the Cross at Our Word and Welcome to It gives us an excellent meditation on how Oscar Wilde’s story The Picture of Dorian Grey reflects some of the truth about our Christian condition.
+ Is the Word “Bible” a Noun or an Adjective? at HerbEly encourages us to support The Bible Literacy Project, which is arguing that a knowledge of the Bible is essential to understanding literature.
+ Learn to Float at CowPi Journal explores an allegory and turns it into a beautiful reflection on our relationship to God that works on several levels.
+ Missionaries From Africa? Bring It On! at Happy Catholic brings us news about African missionaries to the U.S. who come to heal our “theological AIDS.”
+ Heartbreak at A Penitent Blogger offers us a brief reflection on possessions and divided hearts.
+ Today is Trinity Sunday at Quenta Nârwenion examines notes from a Trinity Sunday sermon by Venerable John Henry Newman, C.O.
+ ”Praise to the Holy Trinity and Undivided Unity. Let us Praise God for He has shown us Mercy at HMS Blog is a reflection on why our faith in the Trinity is relevant to our understanding of God’s Love.
+ The Birth of Movements at Clairity’s Place examines our need for movements and how the Church views them.
+ Trinity at Notes uses one of my favorite icons as the basis for his latest Java applet for Trinity Sunday.
+ Pro-abortion, Pro-priestess Woman Banned from Speaking at Jesuit Retreat Center at Ramblings of a GOP Soccer Mom takes a look at a bishop’s intervention and the response when a dissenting speaker is invited to his diocese.
+ Did Jesus Really Rise from the Dead? at Deo Omnis Gloria explores why recent guests on a television show must be wrong when it comes to the Resurrection.
God bless,
Jay
